Garage Saleing Part 1

Cara asked me the other day if Garage saleing could count for VT.

I... said yes!  My kinda visit!

So, off we go... Abb's and Dixie snuggled in the back seat.

 

It was gorgeously overcast so garage sales were SCARCE...  nada.

We hit the Mesa Swap Meet -  Poopy, thumbs down.

Then shuttled off to downtown Mesa, it's been awhile since I've hit Mesa.

(If you know me, ya know my feelings on Mesa)

It was Fun!  Cute boutiques and shops amidst sprinkles.

I tried on a couple shirts at one salon/boutique and their restroom was... AMAZING!

This paint is divine!  Ralph Lauren, Silver - 3+ coats.

Yum!  I totally love this for my future powder room! 

With hot Pink?  HOTT!

How cute would this chair be, recovered in funky fab?

My parents were in town for a long stint in January.  

We went to dinner at the Dirty Bird one night, as we're walking up to the doors,

A couple years ago Mama was here, 

We had just eaten at CPK, went to the restrm,

We stopped, looked at each other,

Started to sing and dance around the bathroom for the whole song!

Which, mixed w/ the FREEZING temps we've had...

I took Dix out, we had to run an obstacle course thru the neighbors front yards and porches to get to the non-iced grass!

Then, amidst the blowing freezing sprinklers, rushing to Cara's...

I hit this ice, and fell into the puddle next to the walk
-up to my heiner!

I finally did it!!!

Why do I have 4 phones you ask?  

Ya know, I"m popular...

I gots all the peeps ringin' me...

The Damask Blackberry is my work phone...

And I've never wanted to change my simple ph# over.

I really like simple phones.  I loved my red LG phone, for like 3 yrs.

When it was turning off by itself, then the charger jack died...

I freaked.

Last summer, Cindy and I went to look at new phones. 

I convinced her (it wasn't hard) to use her free upgrade!

(I had one too but I liked my simple phone)

I coyly asked,

"can I have your old phone to use to charge my battery?"

She obliged, even though Rayley would've loved 2 have it 4play.

So nice!  (phone 3)

Then Bryn did some swanky talkin and sold me on the iphone.

EEK, these things are hard to touch text on...

and I don't need all the gadgets...

(b/c i'm NOT high maintenence)

But, She promised to help me and, it'd be fun.

She finally convinced me to join her family plan.

For a month, I haven't been able to give up my easy old zebra phone. (2)

Though I'm always carrying around 4 phones! 

UGH. 

4 calls to the phone company later,

getting hung up on 3 times

I finally have not more easy text phones.

Just... my fun iphone!

(and my annoying work Blackberry)

Oh Jesse...

The other night my we were taking stuff to my storage unit and it was about 7 pm - DARK outside.  As we are driving up the street, I told my Dad it's probably closed, I think it closes at 6 pm.  Up the street he assures us we won't have a problem getting in... 

Psychic?

Back and forth, turning the corner... Behind us comes a Snap On Tools truck.  The truck pulls up to the gate to punch his code.  "I've seen these guys coming and going in here" he says. Jesse pulls up next to him... in the exit lane!

WHAT!  No, Dad!  he is edging closer and closer to the gate...  "But I have to put my code in specifically" I holler.  the gate begins to retract, closest to us... Jesse ROARS thru the gate and around the bend... leaving the Snap On guy in the dust!  

Oh boy!

We unload and the Snap On guy is at the end of my storage row, facing us, unloading.

We breeze by him, around the rows to the exit.  Yeah, we have to put in a code to get out!  My code keeps bleeping at me and the screen says, "Access denied Queenie"  (or something close to that!)  I get out and try to squeeze thru the gates... um, a little too busty.  I said, "Dad we better go find that Snap On guy to let us out".  We pull around the row and...

His truck is GONE!  MAYDAY!  

I shout, "step on it or we're locked in and I have to pay a fine to the owners!"  Jesse floors it around the back curve...  "Dad, what if he is already at the gate and we missed him!"

Panic

As we come around the last row, there's the truck and they guy was getting in his car.  

Haaaa, I am dying laughing that Jesse has to go save face w/ this guy he beat off the line to get INTO this place!   "uh, sir... Hi... remember me from the front gate..."  

blaaahh ha ha ha

Cute Snap On guy introduces himself as Adam and says he'll just be a minute and, "yeah I wondered if you'd get locked in here b/c it's afterhours!"  HA!  

Oh Dad!  You think you're so sneaky!
