Mr. Head's tender spot is surely kids. He was married once, for a minute - they had a baby, it passed away and he got divorced and moved back to his birth home for forever-after. There are a couple stories of him watching over the kids. Recently a little family lived in his house and they had twins. Sadly the parents decided to divorce so the husband stayed in the house w/ the kids. They had bunk beds in the back bedroom. The hubby dropped his twins off at the ex's on Saturday and went home. He was cleaning up, picking up clothes, putting toys away and was in the front of the bedroom bending down. As he stood up, he saw something out of the corner of his eye and turned to face the bunk-beds. A white silvery figure of an old man stood at the bed, looking down at the lower bunk, arm up on the top bunk. Mr. Head looked up at the husband and... vanished.
Lastly, that I will share the story that the last dear sweet clothing designer resident told me personally this summer! I asked if she had ever 'felt' or 'seen' anything fishy... or spirited. She smiled and said, "I have a tendency to see and feel people from the other side, my grandmother and I have this gift". (whoah) She said that when they were looking at the house to rent, she was talking to my Mom at the front door and saw behind her in the family room an old man in old denim jeans with suspenders. Their eyes met, he smiled and nodded at her. She smiled back. He dis-aperated (Harry Potter term) and she said she felt that he approved of her and her family living there and she felt this was the right place for them to be. She said that by seeing him she knew this would be a safe place for their family.
Veeeerrryyyy Interesting...

It was a DARK and STORMY night...
In the basement of Mr. Head's house (now my parents rental house), there is a shelf basement. For you peeps from AZ who don't know what a basement looks like, it has a shelf about 4' high all around the perimeter of the foundation. As you walk down the stairs, across the room in the far right corner is a little coal room. In your line of sight is a pile of chopped wood on the shelf in this room with no door.
One rainy night the renters heard a plink plink sound below the family room. They heard plink plink over and over and thought it was coming from the basement, but it was stormy and dark and did not venture down there. The next day when the wife went to do laundry down there, she walked down the stairs... and paused... there was something amis. Her peripheral caught the coal room... and the pile of wood was gone! She slowly walked back there, carrying her laundry basket... as she came to the door and looked in, the wood was now restacked to the right of the door, inside the room, out of sight from the stairwell!!!
doo do do do dooo do doo do...
Another resident of the Head Cottage (as my Dad fondly calls it) was cleaning one day and filled a large long box with clothes to take to good will. She wrestled the box to the back door but decided to stick it in the basement until she had more to take. She hefted the box down the stairs and set it right on the floor at the end of the steps.
That night, it rained and stormed...
She was sitting in the family room watching tv and heard a scraping noise. A S...L...O...W... scraping noise. She froze on the sofa, remote in hand and listened...
The next morning she ventured to the stairwell and looked down... the box was pushed away from the steps, forward up to the wall - out of the way of being tripped on if one were to come down the stairs. Mr. Head cares about your safety. the basement windows...
my mom promised to take pics of the creepy basement! stay tuned.

The GHOST rides again...
Mr. Head loves his house. He likes to make sure he approves of each resident.
The first renter was a lovely young couple. She was super hot and had a rockin bod. One morning the lady of the house woke early for work and jumped in the shower at about 5 am. She is showering away, washing her hair and heard a man's voice say, "are you almost done?". She hollered back, "yeah, almost done!" Then he said, "Are you done in there?" "Yes, be out in a second" she called back.

When she got out of the shower she peeked into the hall, didn't see her hubby. She went into the bedroom he... was fast asleep!
When she talked to her hubby later in the day, he said he hadn't woken up until after she left and did not even hear her in the shower.

SpOoKy Stories...
Ghosts... believe it... they're hanging around!
So my parents own the house across the street from where I was born. They rent it out and my Dad bought it from an old man, Mr. Head. Yes, that's his name. HA! He didn't have any family or friends. My Dad would go over and set up a little Christmas tree for him and chat. He had lived in the house for almost all his life and he died there too. So, after he died my Dad gutted the house and remodeled it. Whilst remodeling... Mr. Head came to visit.
One beautiful afternoon in April, Jesse was listening to the radio and painting the house, all the windows were open. I'm sure he was whistling away. Mr. Head breezed down the hall past my Dad. Now paint is a pretty strong smell... but Mr. Head's smell was stronger. Dad stopped, wide eyed, and Mr. Head breezed by again.
Creepy!
Later, Jesse heard a click clicking sound. Then, he heard it again. He walked toward it into the bedroom and his power meiter saw was in the closet on the floor, the lock was flipped up, unlocking the blade. Only my Dad had been in the house, he had not used the saw for about an hour since cutting baseboards. hmmm. He flipped the lock back down (the direction of gravity) and went back to work. Click click... again. He went back into the bedroom and... the lock was UP again (against gravity). It's not like a lock for a saw just springs loose... and clicks UP and DOWN...
Many renters have also commented on Mr. Head's visits...

3 HaPpY things...
My screen saver at work actually, worked the other day.
(I've never seen it actually come up)
Anywho, the quote I have on my screen saver is this:
“Happiness is now,
not a goal or a destination.
It’s not an after. It’s a before.
And it’s up to you.
All you have to do is decide.”
I love it! It was a pleasant surprise to my day and made it better!
This is my next project:
It's actually solids!
I never do that.
And it's supposed to look like
windows on a skyscraper! <3
I'm so happy I got to see this little sheep last night!
(Sorry Dixie tried to bite your hand off!)
Good thing she doesn't have teeth up front!

Sunday was my sweet neighbor Cat's wedding. Cat always watches Dixie when I'm gone & Dix loooves her & John & Serena. I made her a aquamarine and pearl necklace w/ a big sterling handmade flower pendant. She looked FABULOUS in her little summer frock, out by the pool in a fun casual wedding. (her officiant was ordained online! ha!) The ceremony was sweet & tender.
Of course Dixie had to go, with her big bow! She was even in the wedding pics!
And Sunday night... I finally tried to play Settlers of Catan!
Major Monday party hangover!

Camping, finally!
All summer I've been waiting to go camping. It's weird to go alone, or w/ a bunch of families and like, pitch my own lil tent, ha. So, when Kirsten's hubby was in Italy, I volunteered to be her muscle. We went up past Payson to Christopher Creek. (Ironically, Kirsten and I are the same age and both from SLC) And, Istopper, I can't get enough of you!
Luckily her tent was the same as my Dad's so that worked out well. Her kids are super helpful and had so much playing and getting dirty! Nick put up the boy tent on the left and we wrestled the girl tent on the right.

Madison & Jillian had so much fun!
Kirsten made delicious tin-foil dinners which we cooked on coals. I brought glow-stick-bracelets for the kids and they were the only ones w/ them in the camp.
In the morning we played games, balloon toss, potato sack races and they went on a little hike.
Zach rocked it in the potato sack!
It was so nice being in the mountains (even though it was only cool at night) and surrounded by green.
