I'm grateful for Dad's

My parents made it thru a SNOWSTORM for meeee!
I'm kinda bugged that they put themselves in Danger but, GRATEFUL.

Last night, all of us huddled on the couch after our venture to LP.
(still love the LP)
Mom & I on our laptops looking at chandeliers,
Dad, looking thru the chanels.  (Cox is so messed up right now)
I was tivo'ing my bf's show, Hawaii 5-0 (my hottie Alex O'Laughlin)
& it wouldn't let him turn the chanel.
He kept saying, "don't you have any garden
or woodworking shows tivo'ed?"  mmmm NO
So he found my least favorite show,
the O'Reilley Factor and kept getting an error
'you must stop recording Hawaii 5-0 to watch this show'.  Whaaat, NO!
Oh how I love my Dad.
I was busy shopping online, just give the man who loves me his show...
So I stopped my recording & we listened to Politics
& Sarah Palin for an hour.
That's LOVE, ha ha!

I'm going to have to write a list about how amazing my Dad is, if I do it now, I'll cry.

I am truly grateful for Dad's.

My sweet friend Chad is driving 27 hours today to see his kids!
With his Mom & Step-Dad in the car, BRAVE.

My dear friend's husband travels for work & she is an AMAZING Mom,
Oh how her hubby must miss those sweet, jovial kids every week.

My neighbor just got remarried, her new burrley hubby is SO sweet & loving with her daughter
(& SO cute w/ Dixie)

My friend's hubby works 3 jobs to support their family but comes home & doesn't miss a beat playing with & taking care of his kiddies.

Stever is SUCH a cute Dad & plays w/ the little chickens like he's a big kid in a Dad's body!

The Boise boy is an AMAZING Dad!  He takes off work to be with his kids when the wifey is sick instead of dispersing them to the in-laws.  This man, I've NEVER heard him raise his voice with his children, he talks SO sweet & tenderly with them, it makes your heart melt.  He truly is Gentle with them, which I think will bode well for them in their future relationships. :)

Dad's... AMAZING!

So I've had this post in the works for awhile.
This cute, sweet couple made me smile!
Thanks to Bryn and her knack for snapping sly pics of people of 'experience',
I tried to be a chip off the 'ol block.
However, today, when I thought of this pic and what shall I write about COUPLES...
here's all that came to mind...
This weekend is the annual 31-Dinosaur Singles Conference in Phx...

Amazing Chicka!

Patty getting married is so exciting!  She is literally the kindest person I know!  She always puts other first and is so creative and thoughtful!  A few months ago my Mom was in town and we all went to the bead store and were making jewelry at my house.  Mom was concocting something and asked Patty's opinion.  Later my Mom said, "Patty really thinks about what she says before she says it and is very conscious of others feelings'.  I thought this was super nice.  Seriously, she is amazing.  And, she would kill me if she knew these pics were here.  But, she's gorgeous and I celebrate her and her happiness!

Last weekend or so, her sisters threw her a Bachelorette party.  The bachelorettes of all parties I say!  We met on the roof of Hotel Indigo, EVERYONE was wearing a little black dress, except me... major wardrobe meltdown.  I love getting dressed up!  I've thrown LBD parties!  What is wrong w/ me.  As I walked in everyone freaked out that I was wearing jeans.  Patty says, 'don't worry, I have 2 other LBD upstairs and you will wear one of those!'.  We had appetizers, played fun bachelorette games, there were boas for all, bling LED rings, jangley necklaces, presents & lots of pics.  Then we went upstairs, her sissy's had made gift bags for everyone!  Cute!  They made me change and voila!  The dress rocked and was a perfect fit, Thanks Patty!
(i do not have pic editing on any of my computers so pls excuse my hideous arm)

So then we headed out to REVOLVER, great music and we had a little corner set aside for our party of 21!  21 girlies in LBD's!  We had so much fun dancing!  We got back to our room at about 2 am and sat on the floor ate snacks and re-capped all the funny people and things throughout the eve.  The sun was full force at 6:30 am and man, I need much more sleep than that these days!

7, the magic #

I have lived in Arizona 7 years todayAAAAHHHH

I moved here for a job & to be a career girl, Voila!  Still here, workin away.
I remember I stalled my move to go to the Indigo Girls concert.
My dear friends threw the most FABULOUS farewell Fiesta party!
Beloved GF's helped me pack...
as I was in denial it was all happening & I totally wasn't packed on moving day!
My DAD was SOOOOO sad.  :(  He was trying to be helpful & positive & I could see he was teary & his heart was aching that his favorite daughter was leaving.
Casey and I drove off into the sunset, when we arrived in Phx, we both burst into tears.
Luckily, I had Christmas in Hawaii to look forward to!

Where does time go?  How can this be.  I am neutral about it.
I never thought I'd be there this long - for sure.  3 maybe 5 yrs...

BURN!

Oh I looove that this went down last night!  So I'm working out at Catz, B. Clark is coaching and for once I'm not mouthing off joking around.  He says, "man you guys are quiet tonight", someone says, "it's Monday".  Some big dude is doing shoulder presses w/ like... 7 lb weights.  B. Clark yells at him to get bigger ones and he says his shoulder is hurt.  We are then doing one legged chest passes w/ the med ball into the wall and the gal next to me is going at it wrong.  B. Clark yells at her, she says, "my knee hurts when I stand on one leg." Then, he goes into his rant...

"People, you are OLD!
None of us need to hold back on telling me your injuries b/c NONE of us are going to get a
SCHOLARSHIP!
Tell me if something hurts!
None of us are going to 'GO PRO',
no RECRUITERS are watching us... we're OLD!"
Then I get a brilliant idea... remember how he told me I had to lose 3 lbs this wk, well last night he looks at me all sternly, "you doing the diet... you better... you have to lose 4 lbs this wk!".  Me:  "WHAAATT!!  you said 3... be realistic B. Clark!"

As we are walking to the next station, I casually say,
"B. Clark... I'm prego".
And then I wipe my face w/ my towel for an extended second and turn away.
His FACE was PRICELESS!!!
He was like, "Really... no.... for real???  Whaaat the... Whoooo... uh, I mean, I just didn't know you were seeing anyone."  HA!!!  He seriously got this guilty look and was SO concerned :)

And he went on, "How far along?"
me: 3 mo.
him:Whoooo?
me: oh, some dude I met in Australia
him: (awe struck) So, are you gonna make it work?
me: mmm, probably not, I mean, he's in Australia
(side note: I did NOT go to Australia)
him: Well, just make the best of it! You're gonna be fine, everything happens for a reason...
me: See, no wonder I haven't lost any weight in a couple months.
HILARIOUS!
Everyone in the gym was all quiet, and listening and concerned.

Anywho, as the set of reps is ending we were supposed to run laps around the building, I lean over and said, "JUST KIDDING!" and turned and ran out the door!  I could hear him yelling down the block!

I'm sure he's going to kick my ACE every night this week!

Sweet Pics

I added some HILARIOUS pics of Dixie in her halloween costume to my halloween post AND... I added some more spooky pics of the Head Cottage basement onto the post below.

Check em out!

PUFFY

Dude!  I had a raucous weekend and now, I'm puffy
 Not THIS Puffy...
Last week I was 'getting' sick for about 2 days.  I was uber 'emotional' for 2 days.  People kept asking why I was so sniffy (I hate when people ask that, I fear I'll turn into my sniffly Auntie).  Maybe it was a boog, DUDE.  Then I stayed up SUPER late this weekend and did NOT work out.  WTH is wrong w/ me.  EEK!

Today, I feel pressure behind my eyes, in my nose/sinus', my head and whole FACE.  I hung my head back off the side of my bed hoping to clear my head.  I gave myself a sinus massage while doing a charcoal mask this morning.  I'm trying not to sniff... but my nosey is dry.  I remember Jo telling me about a Neti pot...
Anyone tried this?  ha ha, sounds icky and hippie-ish.  hmmm...  desperate times call for desperate measures!

I guess the reason I'm so bugged by how I feel today is B.Clark of CATZ gave me a BIG lecture (in front of some cute guy) at the gym on Friday and... I have to lose 3 lbs this week or I'm 'kicked off the island'.  MAYDAY!  When was the last time this happened... uh like... never.  Shizzlesticks.  So, I'm going to have to work out likeeeeee, 3 hours every day this week.  Glenda says just to starve myself (B.Clark do you hear that?? unhealthy).  AND, I'm PUFFY!!!
This is B.Clark - don't let that smile fool you... he is HARD CORE!  And only smiles like that when he's singing off key.  But... I do love him for caring

Any advise on my head decongestion... and body deflation...

On a happy note... I cleaned my downstairs last night, kitchen, vacuumed, scrubbed my hardwood floors on hands and knees (Mel, I learned from the best, ha), and even tore apart my couch and vacuumed every inch!
I do feel happy about this accomplishment!

A Laugh & a 1/2

So a couple weekends ago I went to the movies w/ a 'couple' of friends.  Walking by the movie posters outside, my dearest Glenda asked if we'd seen the movie poster w/ the owl on it...
And she said that a few weeks before, he and her darling hubby were at the movies and she saw this poster.  She said, "Oh Chuck, LOOK!  Harry Potter is out!  Let's see if we can get tickets.  She bought tickets, surprisingly it wasn't sold out!  They were in the movie theater and it started and after a few minutes Chuck said, "I don't think this is Harry Potter!".
Aaaaah ha ha ha ha ha!
Oh doll, I can see how you thought this poster was Hedwig,
Harry's owl!!!
LMAO!

All Hallows Eve!

Oh how I LOVE Halloween... Oh how I wish I had somewhere fabulous to go all dressed up in a very well thought out, pre-planned, detail executed costume.  (Sigh...)  But alas, this year was relegated to Trunk-or-Treating celebrations.  It was fun to see all the kidlets dressed up!  Happily I was invited to Mar's party to see my favorite AZ babes...
And how nice, people kept asking me if I was Mar's sister!  Whoo-hoo.
Crickets over, "I can't believe your not married"!!!  If I had a dollar for everytime someone said that... And someone asked if I was dressed up as Paris Hilton, pfhshaw!!  As IF... I could pull that off, LOL!  I think Dixie in her Halloween sweater was the reason for that comment!  HA!

Saturday I stopped over at Kirsten's Trick-or-Treat party to see the 'Things'.  Someone had an actual coffin at their truck stop!  Man, dare to climb in a coffin prematurely... bad luck I say. My fav costume was Wonder Woman and her mini-me Wonder Woman twins!
The CAT in the HAT was pretty sweet!  What a good husband John!  And generous w/ the CANDY!!!
HaLLoWeeN NiGhT, Kirsten invited me over to party w/ the fam!  'Thing' 1, 2, 3 & 4 were SUPER excited to see me, which made me so HAPPY!  She got bread bowls in the shape and color of pumpkins for potato soup that was DELISH!  I loved that right before dinner John hauled out the Halloween CANDY and they had like, 6 HUGE bags!  We dumped it out on the table and went to town!  Haaa ha ha.  All kinds, all you can eat!  mmm.    I haven't laughed so hard in SO long!  We watched 'It's a Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown' and some of 'The Haunted Mansion', I kept screaming as if I was scared and scaring them!  HA!  It was SUCH a fun night!  My favorite comment of the evening was when we were talking about the twin towers and someone (who shall remain nameless) made a funny comment and his Dad called him "CaPtAiN ObVioUs".  Aaaahhh!

This was Dixie's alternate costume... but then the hat broke :(  Baaah ah aha ha ha ha ha!
