Derby Dames

My workout friend Melanie and I went to check out the AZ Derby Dames!
She is a frequent roller-blader and I own sketcher roller-skates, so...
we totally are hot Derby Dames!  Whoot!
It was SO fun!  Loud, fun music, lots of people watching and fun costumes!
Oh yeah, and the speedy Jammers and ever-steadfast Blockers.
It's easy to understand, have you seen Whip It yet?
Produced by Drew Barrymore, GREAT MOVIE!
The teams we liked best were, School Yard Scrappers!
One girl had the most hilarious name!
The other teams were the Bombshells
(Melanie picked their team)
and
Runaway Brides - (this would be MY pick!  ha!)
I think we may try out in November!  Wild women!
(really, it's not all that violent)

Oh and the stadium was like a meat locker cold -
and the music was uber loud -
and I dozed off at 10:15 pm.  Dude!

Mel's CREATIVE!
Oh Yeah, Melanie makes these SO cute wipey cases

Let me know if you want one, she sells them!

And they are the travel size, flat ones
So all your friends will be envious of your cute wipey tote!

A Scorpion Hunting we will go...

So, I'm not a fan, I've only seen one - BIG one since I've moved to AZ (knock on wood) but...  A couple weeks ago Jeff had caught 4, a cockroach and a BLACK WIDOW!  In a jar, we rustled them to fight, then put them back in the garage for safety.  An hour and a half later, we went to get something and saw that the black widow was mangled!
Spider legs - GONE, Spider head - GONE,  Spider body... stuck on a Scorpion's head!!
He was wiggling his pincher arms frantically with the round black body with the red hourglass STUCK on his face, I think he was eating it from the inside out!  Siiiick!  (I wish I had a pic of that!)
VILE CREATURES!

The other night, someone gave a shout-out to go Scorpion Hunting!  EWE!  Right?!  Yes, Intriguing.
I called Jeff up to bring his black light, he brought chop sticks to catch them with too.
We only found 2 but the party planner had a jar of dead ones.  We doused them in alcohol and set them AFLAME in the dirt.  It was weird, the pile glowed fluorescent green and was burning, EVIL!

So I did a little tribal scorpion dance of triumph around the fire.
This is what 115 degree weather makes you do.

i LOVE jewelry!

I need to sell these little bangles!

 Any takers?  $20

They are REALLY cute

Ah, the singles scene...

There was the annual Mid-Singles bowling night about a week ago.
I like bowling, thus... I will attend this event - not too scary.
However, upon arrival none of my peeps wanted to bowl, boo!

So we're standing around chatting and I hitch up a bar stool next to Suz.  I'm kind-of on the side of our clan and OF COURSE... creepy nerdy guy sees my smiling, nice, approachable face and creeps over.
Does he speak, no.  He just invades my bubble and stares at me.  Naturally, if a guy approaches it's my job to do the talking - DUH, NO!  As Bryn would say, "Awkward!"
My peeps see this encounter is going to go down and yes... let a little smile escape and... WATCH...

Me: "Hi there"
Geek: (bless his heart)  "Hi"
Me:  "Havin fun?"
Geek:  "Yes"
long pause
Me:  "what's your name"
Geek:  "Ben"
long pause
Me:  "well, I'm Chelsa"
Ben:  "Chelsea"
Me:  "no, Chelsaaaahhh"
Ben:  thinking
Ben:  "Chelsea huh, I had a dog named Chelsea, (slight laugh).  She wasn't the kind of dog you want to remember"
Me:  big eyes... "well, my name is Chelsaaaahh, maybe you could remember that, it's not a dog name!"

Jeff:  "Hey Chelsa, let's go get some shoes, didn't you want to bowl?  Let's go see if they have shoes"
Chelsa exits here...

Ridiculous.  Thanks Jeff  :)  glad I could help everyone out with a good laugh!

Takin' a Snooze

This is what I am hoping for...

Well, I went to B & N last night to do a little research on breeding Chichihua's.
I had to ask 2 people where the pet section was, they had moved it to the back corner.

So I sat down, in my sweats and hat and started reading.  Apparently Chichihua books are really boring b/c... sitting on the floor - I FELL ASLEEP!  Hunched over, in the aisle.  Luckily, I woke up when they announced
"B & N will be closing in 5 min"!

I was home in bed by 10 and asleep by 10:15 and didn't even hear my phone ring from NZ at 11:20.  :)  Good Sleeps!
